The College of Education and Integrative Studies (CEIS) has launched its second season of weekly podcasts on new trends and innovations in education. The series will continue to highlight faculty, staff and students from the college.
“I’m grateful for the positive comments I’ve received regarding the podcasts,” said CEIS Dean Jeff Passe. “I am thrilled to continue to offer them.”
The first season featured 14 faculty members from the ethnic and women’s studies, education, interdisciplinary general education and liberal studies departments. The topics ranged from societal matters such as racial discrimination to specific issues related to California’s testing programs. Each podcast also referenced the professor’s own career development.
“In every podcast interview, I’ve learned something that changed my way of thinking,” Passe said. “It’s good for the soul to be challenged by new ideas and perspectives.”
The second series will begin with a podcast featuring CEIS Associate Dean Hend Gilli-Elewy. In her podcast, she will discuss CEIS’s Interdisciplinary General Education (IGE) program and the social, historical and religious aspects of the early and medieval Islamic world.
A new episode will air every Monday through CEIS’s website as well as on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher and TuneIn.
