Indira Guzman Assistant Professor, Computer Information Systems College of Business Administration

Indira Guzman is a cybersecurity expert whose research on artificial intelligence for responsible digital transformation, IT workforce management, gender gap in IT, information systems auditing, information security policy compliance, behavioral information security, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) in IT, and IT/cybersecurity workforce culture and development have been cited more than 1,000 times in industry, academic journals and international conferences.

 

Guzman teaches the cybersecurity track in the Department of Computer Information Systems in the College of Business Administration. She currently serves as the director of the Mitchell C. Hill Center for Digital Innovation at Cal Poly Pomona and is a founding faculty advisor of the university’s Women in Tech (WIT) student organization.

 

Guzman is a research consultant for ELLAS (Equality in Leadership for Latin American STEM), a project funded by the International Development Research Centre, a Canadian federal Crown corporation. She was elected as the president of the Latin American Chapter of the Association of Information Systems (2022-24), and is a 2000-02 Scholar-Fellow of the Fulbright-LASPAU (Latin American Scholarship Program of American Universities) Program. In 2008, she was included in “Who’s Who in America in Science and Technology.”

 

Prior to her career in academia, Guzman was the chief of the information technology department and network administrator for Banco de la Nación Argentina (Bank of the Argentinian Nation) and information systems analyst for the European Economic Community-sponsored OFINAAL Office in La Paz, Bolivia, where she developed a computerized system organizing food donation programs.
